General Rules
1. Please dress appropriately for work.
2. No headphones at the desk (this includes over-ear headphones, airpods, earbuds, etc.)
3. No eating at the desk (please use the back area or break room)
4. No personal phone calls or facetimes at the desk. You must inform a supervisor of an important phone call and go to the back to take it. Limit phone calls to those of an urgent or important matter (i.e. family emergencies, family members). Abuse of this privilege will result in disciplinary action. Taking phone calls at the desk will result in disciplinary actions.
5. Do not leave the desk unattended unless you are doing the headcount, going to the restroom, etc. Do not leave the desk to go hang out with friends in the library.
6. If you are not currently on the clock, you MAY NOT go behind the desk or perform any work-related tasks such as shelving or checking things in/out.
7. You may not leave the building while on the clock without informing a supervisor first. Leaving the building without first informing a supervisor will result in disciplinary action.
8. All instances in which you must miss a shift or leave the building for an extended period of time MUST be approved by Nichole the day prior to your shift and you must clock out for the duration of the meeting. This includes meetings/group projects in or out of the library.
Dress Code
- No hats
- No open-toed shoes
- No visible undergarments
- Please wear appropriate attire

Completion of Tasks
Whilst on the clock, you are expected to complete your assigned tasks BEFORE completing personal projects. You may not work on your homework, play games, etc. if you have not already completed your daily tasks.
If you have not completed your tasks, but are at the desk working on personal tasks, it will result in disciplinary action. If you have an urgent personal task that needs to be completed before you complete your assigned tasks, you must speak with Nichole first to ensure that you may complete said personal tasks before completing library tasks.
You are expected to complete ALL assigned tasks by the end of your shift unless otherwise specified. If you are unable to do so, you must let Nichole know.
Shift Attendance
- You are expected to attend your shift if you have not previously informed a supervisor (Nichole) of your absence.
- You may not clock on for your shift until you are in the library
- You may not leave the building while on the clock without informing Nichole first . Leaving the building without first informing a supervisor will result in disciplinary action.
- All instances in which you must miss a shift or leave the building for an extended period of time MUST be approved by Nichole the day prior to your shift and you must clock out for the duration of the meeting. This includes meetings/group projects in or out of the library.
- You may not schedule your shift or pick up a shift during a meeting in which you will be in attendance. For example, if you attend Alpha meetings each week, you may not attend the meeting during your shift. You may not schedule yourself to work during a time in which you will be required at a meeting.
- You must follow proper clock-in protocols to avoid issues with your time sheet. If you do not clock in properly, your hours may not be recorded properly, which could impact your paycheck. Please ensure that you follow proper clock-on procedures to avoid these issues.
